Hong Kong's First Non-tertiary Art Therapy Programme Which Adopts Academy Mode

… The curriculum is meticulously designed, referencing the latest guidelines from the American Art Therapy Association and integrating years of teaching and psychotherapy experience in Tharros Centre. Each learning content in the programme is grounded in theory, and appropriate practice is included to ensure effective learning.

Evidence-Based Approach

… Psychology element is integrated in programme design and presented in an accessible manner. This helps students without prior training in the field to understand pathological and developmental psychology, bolstering their awareness and flexibility in practical applications.

Emphasise on Psychological Knowledge

… Each subject is independent and tailored to different target groups with different psychological needs. Students can flexibly choose subjects based on their interests and needs. Tuition fees are charged per selected subject. Independent certificate will be issued upon completion of each subject; whereas graduation certificate and academic transcript will be awared after completing the required course credits.

Programme Structure


2 Core subjects + 7 Elective subjects
  • Each course covers targets in different developmental stages and with different needs, helping you understand the psychological needs and intervention methods for various individuals.

  • All courses are offered over 2 semesters within 6 months, allowing students to enroll based on their schedule and interests.
     

Flexible study arrangements
  • You can freely choose any course without a set order, and there is no need for continuous study.

  • For a more balanced learning experience, it is recommended to complete all core courses and at least two elective courses.

  • You can start by taking one or two courses to see if they suit you; before fulfilling the requirements of 2 core courses + 2 elective courses for the program certificate.

20 hours of study per course
  • Each course consists of 10 lessons, with 4 hours of study per lesson, covering reading, assignments, test, and 2 hours of weekly instruction.
    (For AT2211, other arrangement will be made for particular lessons)

Students are welcomed to form groups with 6 or more members and schedule for another time to conduct the courses. Students enrolling in a course in a group can enjoy a 25% off group discount.
