100% Online Flexible Learning

... Each item in the course is explained in detail in terms of its theoretical basis, principles of application, and application of artistic techniques, and is practised with case examples and self-reflection, so that students can master the theory and practice, and be able to change and develop their own skills when applying the course after graduation.

Subject Descriptions

AP2101
Art Facilitation for Emotions and Trauma

This essential introductory course lays the foundation for your entire learning journey. It not only explores the psychological underpinnings of human emotions and trauma but also establishes a robust ethical framework, enabling you to guide creative work safely and responsibly.

AP2112
Art Facilitation for Adolescents

This course explores the unique neurological and psychosocial landscape of adolescent minds—whose values differ from those of children yet are not yet fully aligned with those of adults. We shall critically examine challenges such as self-image construction, motivation, peer dynamics, rebellion, and the re-emergence of childhood trauma.

AP2122
Art Facilitation for in Christian Spirituality

This course adopts a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model to explore spirituality as a unique and vital dimension of human experience. Participants will examine the intersection of theology and psychology, analyse the historical development of spiritual perspectives, and consider how religion can serve as both a resource and a potential source of conflict.

AP2102
Art Languages and Expression

This course delves into diverse modalities ranging from traditional painting mediums to contemporary emerging materials. You will explore how the tactile qualities of different art materials—such as the fluidity of pigments—become active participants in psychological processes.

AP2113
Art Facilitation for Geriatrics and End-of-Life Care

This course examines psychological transitions from retirement to the end of life, including considerations for caring for individuals with neurocognitive disorders such as dementia. Additionally, it covers grief counselling and existential reflection, guiding participants to assist older adults in exploring themes of mortality and the meaning of life.

AP2131
The Art of Imperfection: Transformation of Life

This course is a therapeutic journey designed as a countercultural intervention against the maladaptive perfectionism prevalent in modern society. It serves as psychological balm for the anxiety and alienation bred by fast-paced urban living.

AP2111
Art Facilitation for Children

This course analyses the unique developmental trajectory of children (aged 0 to 12), examining the interplay between emotional, cognitive and artistic development. Participants will learn to adopt a child-centred perspective, scrutinising how dysfunctional family dynamics and parenting practices influence early psychological formation.

AP2121
Art Facilitation for Autism

This course guides participants in understanding how individuals with autism perceive and process the world. We shall explore the development of autistic traits and their specific emotional needs. Participants will learn to utilise art as a non-verbal bridge, bypassing communication barriers while respecting each person's unique limitations to open pathways for connection.

AT2132
Introduction of AI-Assisted Art and Introspection

This course explores the potential of AI as a tool for psychological insight from a human-centred perspective. Designed specifically for individuals without a technological background, it redefines AI as a 'digital mirror' rather than a substitute for human creativity—a projective medium capable of externalising complex inner narratives.
